Day 39 Loving YL - Smelly dog help

Smelly dog help with Purification Essential oil by Young Living

Rainy day equals smelly dog! I don't have time to give him a bath and he'd just get dirty 5 seconds later in the wet grass. To take care of a smelly dog, I use my homemade doggy spray. I mix about 20 drops of Purification essential oil and witch hazel in a 2 oz bottle. I spray him down as needed.

Purification® can be used directly on the skin to cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes. When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.

Purification is a blend of Citronella, lemongrass, rosemary, Melaleuca (Melaleuca alternifolia) lavandin and myrtle.

Day 29 Loving YL - DIY Thieves Cloth Wipes

DIY Thieves Cloth Disinfectant Wipes

Why buy pricey toxic cleaning wipes, when you can make safe natural reusable ones yourself? And for a fraction of the cost! Thieves cloth wipes are a must in my kitchen. I first cut up a t-shirt into roughly 10x10 inch squares. In a mason jar, I combine 1-2 capfuls of Thieves household cleaner, 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of water. I fold up the wipes and stuff them into the jar onto of the liquid. The fabric will absorb the liquid. When ready to use, ring out wipe, use, then toss in laundry! Note: When I run out of wipes, I still have some liquid left in the jar, then I stuff in new clean cloths until the liquid is gone. Each jar will cost about $.75 to make.

A clean, beautiful home invites family and friends to come together. But when your cleaning leaves a strong, chemical scent, others might not want to gather. Create a welcoming home that’s safe for everyone with the fresh and inviting scent of Thieves® Household Cleaner.

Formulated with the power of Young Living’s Thieves oil blend, you can get a deep clean without dangerous or synthetic ingredients. Thieves cleaner also includes the scent of Lemon essential oil for an even more uplifting aroma. Chores will feel like less of a chore with the sweet-and-spicy scent and effective cleaning power of Thieves Household Cleaner.

This all-purpose cleaner can be used on any surface in your home for dusting, spot cleaning, scrubbing, or any other cleaning need. Wherever you use it, you’ll feel good knowing it’s safe to use around everyone in your family, including pets. Spot test in an inconspicuous area before applying this product to woods, plastics, fabrics, and granite. If staining or damage occurs, discontinue use on the material.

Day 28 Loving YL - Diffuse Lavender at bedtime for calming

Diffuse Lavender at bedtime for calming

Today was a rough day for my toddler. His mood was all over the place and was having a tough time keeping it together. As you can imagine, dinner was a nightmare. After bath, I rubbed some Lavender essential oil on the bottom of his feet and had him smell from the bottle. I filled his diffuser with Lavender and had it running when we put him to bed. He was out like a light!

Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) has a fresh, sweet, floral, herbaceous aroma that is soothing and refreshing. Because it is the most versatile of all essential oils, no home should be without it. Lavender is an adaptogen, and therefore can assist the body when adapting to stress or imbalances. It is a great aid for relaxing and winding down before bedtime, yet has balancing properties that can also boost stamina and energy. Therapeutic-grade lavender is highly regarded for skin and beauty. It may be used to soothe and cleanse common cuts, bruises, and skin irritations. The French scientist René Gattefossé was among the first to discover these properties when he was severely burned in a laboratory explosion. Lavender may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.

Day 26 Loving YL - Peppermint to get rid of spiders

Peppermint essential oil by Young Living - for spiders

We live in the country and so do many types of little (and big) critters. Even with pest control, spiders tend to love our house, especially my studio. Today I mixed peppermint and witch hazel in a glass bottle and sprayed the entry way to my studio. Spiders hate peppermint. Hopefully this will not only keep the spiders away, but the scorpions that eat those spiders! I put about 10 drops of peppermint per 1 oz of witch hazel.

Peppermint has a strong, clean, fresh, minty aroma. One of the oldest and most highly regarded herbs for soothing digestion, it may also restore digestive efficiency. Jean Valnet MD studied peppermint's supportive effect on the liver and respiratory systems. Other scientists have also researched peppermint's role in improving taste and smell when inhaled. Dr. William N. Dember of the University of Cincinnati studied peppermint's ability to improve concentration and mental sharpness. Alan Hirsch MD studied peppermint's ability to directly affect the brain's satiety center, which triggers a sensation of fullness after meals. This powerful essential oil is often diluted before topical application. Peppermint may also be used to enhance the flavor of food and water.

Day 18 Loving YL - Toddler Teething Relief

Toddler Teething Relief with Clove and Copaiba Essential oil Young Living for inflammation and pain

There is not one, but TWO teething monsters in my home! Today it was my toddler who was having the most trouble. He was drooling like a big hound dog and chewing on his fingers. To ease his mouth pain, I rubbed some of my magic toddler friendly non-toxic teething cream all around his mouth and gums. And as you can see from the picture, he helped as well. Not only for toddlers, adults can use this magic numbing cream for any mouth pain and/or soreness.

To make this cream, I start with about a teaspoon of coconut oil and put it into a small container. I add 5 drops of Copaiba and 15 drops of Clove essential oils. Since this is going in the mouth and can be ingested, I only recommend using Young Living essential oils. Stir it up then test in your own mouth. Give it a few seconds and see if you feel it needs to be stronger. The Copaiba will help with the inflammation while the clove will numb the tooth and gums. Store the rest for later.

Toddler Teething Relief with Clove and Copaiba Essential oil Young Living for inflammation and pain

Copaiba is a powerful essential oil from South America that has traditionally been used to aid digestion and support the body's natural response to injury or irritation. Copaiba contains the highest amounts of beta caryophyllene (55 percent) of any known essential oil.

Clove essential oil has a sweet, spicy fragrance that is stimulating and revitalizing. An important ingredient in our Thieves blend due to its wonderful immune-enhancing properties, its principal constituent is eugenol, which is used in the dental industry to numb the gums. Clove is the highest-scoring single ingredient ever tested for its antioxidant capacity on the ORAC scale. Always dilute for topical use. Clove may also be used to enhance the flavor of foods.

Day 16 Loving YL - Clear up blemishes

Clear up blemishes with Melrose Essential oil Young Living

Today I woke up with a serious blemish forming under my skin on my chin. One of those big ones that you can't see but hurt like hell? Yikes! I applied 1 drop of Young Living's essential oil blend called Melrose. I applied again at lunch time and evening. Dries the blemish right up! One of those you have to see to believe. I've had blemishes that were "ready to pop" and I used Melrose. Within 20 minutes, it was completely dried up. Take that acne!

Here is a before and after picture I took about a month ago.

Day 14 Loving YL - Neutralize odors in a stinky vacuum

Neutralize odors in a stinky vacuum with Purification Essential oil Young Living

I thought vacuuming was suppose to make your house cleaner, not make it smells like a wet dog! Pet owners know what I'm talking about. I opened up my vacuum and put 3 drops of Purification essential oil by Young Living onto the air filter today before I vacuumed. My house smells great! Not only did it smell great, but the purification actually neutralizes the odors in my house. Why haven't I tried this before?

Purification can be used directly on the skin to cleanse and soothe insect bites, cuts, and scrapes. When diffused, it helps to purify and cleanse the air from environmental impurities including cigarette smoke and other disagreeable odors.
