Homemade Foaming Face Wash

Simple Homemade Shampoo made with Young Living essential oils

A few days ago, I posted my simple homemade shampoo recipe using castile soap. Here is yet another simple recipe using castile soap. The best part of making this foaming face wash yourself, is being able to customize the ingredients however you'd like. You can add more of one thing or less of another. Feel free to change out the essential oils for whatever you want for your face type or condition. Also check out my foaming hand soap recipe from last year's post.

You will need:

    Homemade Foaming Face Wash made with Young Living essential oils
  • 3 oz. distilled water
  • 4 Tablespoons Dr. Bronner's castile liquid soap {Amazon link}
  • 1 Tablespoon raw honey {Amazon link}
  • 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil {Amazon link} or any carrier oil that you like on your face, such as fractionated coconut oil {Amazon link}, grape seed oil {Amazon link} or jojoba oil {Amazon link}
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerine {Amazon link}
  • 3-4 drops Vitamin E oil {Amazon link}

Simple Homemade Shampoo

Simple Homemade Shampoo made with Young Living essential oils

Toxic shampoos and beauty products are a thing of the past. With a few simple ingredients that you probably have around your house, you can make your own for cheap. If you have not figured out the beauty of castile soap, hopefully you soon will. It comes in a bar or liquid format and you can use it for everything from shampoos, to body wash, to face wash, to hand soap... you get the point. Feel free to find what essential oil combo works best for your hair. A quick search of Google will probably guide you to which essential oils are best for certain hair types.

You will need:

    Simple Homemade Shampoo made with Young Living essential oils
  • 4 oz. filtered water
  • 4 oz. Dr. Bronner's Castile Liquid Soap {Amazon link}
  • Young Living essential oils
  • 8 oz Cobalt Blue Plastic Bottle w/ Black Disc Lid 6 pk {Amazon link}

Homemade Deep Pore Cleansing Clay Mask

Homemade Deep Pore Cleansing Clay Mask made with Young Living essential oils

High price masks and pore strips? Not for me! This homemade mask is super cheap and works better than anything I've ever used. The bottle is about $7.50 and makes about 15 facials (plus the cost of your essential oils). That is only 50 cents per facial! Feel free to use whatever essential oils that you'd like to support your skin.

You will need:

  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar {Amazon link}
  • 2 Tablespoons bentonite clay {Amazon link}
  • 1-2 drops each of tea tree, frankincense & rosemary essential oils (Young Living brand)

Instructions

Mix together ingredients in a non-metal bowl using a non-metal utensil. Stir the mixture well to a smooth paste. Add more clay or liquid as needed. Apply 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch to the face or other area. Let it dry for 5-10 minutes for delicate skin and 15-20 minutes for normal skin. You will feel a pulling and tightening sensation.

Remove the clay by washing with warm water. Slight redness of the skin is normal and will disappear in about 30 minutes. The clay mask removes impurities and dirt for the pores. Your skin will feel amazing when you are finished!

Day 11 Loving YL - Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar & Rosemary Dip

Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar & Rosemary Dip using Rosemary Essential oil Young Living

Tonight I baked Rosemary Chicken with potatoes. I was running low on Rosemary and had just enough to make the chicken. French bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar and rosemary dip is one of my favorite side dishes. Since I ran out of rosemary, I just used a drop of my rosemary essential oil instead. Make sure you only use Young Living essential oils when ingesting any essential oil and read the label for details.

Rosemary essential oil helps support a healthy lifestyle regimen and well-being. This oil provides a savory addition to many meats marinades, side dishes, and dressings. Rosemary includes the naturally occurring constituents eucalyptol and alpha-pinene, and is an important ingredient in many Young Living products including Thieves®, En-R-Gee™, and JuvaFlex™ essential oil blends, Essentialzymes-4™ and Inner Defense™.
