Homemade Foaming Face Wash

Simple Homemade Shampoo made with Young Living essential oils

A few days ago, I posted my simple homemade shampoo recipe using castile soap. Here is yet another simple recipe using castile soap. The best part of making this foaming face wash yourself, is being able to customize the ingredients however you'd like. You can add more of one thing or less of another. Feel free to change out the essential oils for whatever you want for your face type or condition. Also check out my foaming hand soap recipe from last year's post.

You will need:

    Homemade Foaming Face Wash made with Young Living essential oils
  • 3 oz. distilled water
  • 4 Tablespoons Dr. Bronner's castile liquid soap {Amazon link}
  • 1 Tablespoon raw honey {Amazon link}
  • 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil {Amazon link} or any carrier oil that you like on your face, such as fractionated coconut oil {Amazon link}, grape seed oil {Amazon link} or jojoba oil {Amazon link}
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable glycerine {Amazon link}
  • 3-4 drops Vitamin E oil {Amazon link}
  • 1 Tablespoon aloe vera gel - optional {Amazon link}
  • 1-3 drops each of these Young Living essential oils (or scent of choice): cedarwood, frankincense, tea tree, rosemary and aloes/sandalwood (from the Twelve Oils of Ancient Scripture Kit) or Royal Hawaiian Sandalwood
  • 8oz foaming soap dispenser {Amazon link}

Instructions

Put all ingredients into the foaming soap dispenser and shake well. Use as your normally use your face wash. Enjoy!

Homemade Cocoa & Shea Whipped Body Butter

Homemade DIY Whipped Body Butter made with Young Living essential oils

This was my first crack at whipped body butter and whew, what have I been missing. I do see why it is called “butter”. After it sets out, it has a consistency like butter, which is rather weird at first, but super cool and moisturizing.

You will need:

DIY Whipped Body Butter with Essential Oils

Instructions

1. Place coconut oil, cocoa butter, and shea butter in a glass mixing bowl and microwave on high. Keep checking and stir to combine until it melts completely.

2. Thoroughly mix in the sweet almond, vitamin E and essential oil(s). For this batch, I used 6 drops each of Myrhh, Lavender, Frankincense, & Sandalwood. Add more of less depending on your preferences.

3. Chill in your refrigerator for an hour or two. You want the mixture to firm up without getting too hard.

4. Once chilled, use a stand mixer or hand mixer to mix until you get a decadent whipped consistency. Scoop into a jar or container. As long as you are using quality oils this homemade lotion should last for 6 – 12 months at room temperature. If your home is extra toasty it may melt but you can re-chill and whip it up again with no problem.

NOTE: This recipe makes more than what is shown in the little 4oz jar. It makes about 2 cups.
